Following the
success of the pioneering Executive Offshore Wind MBA, the second
edition of the programme has now begun at Gdynia Maritime University
Offshore Wind Energy Centre. The Executive Offshore Wind MBA is a
prestigious programme that develops managers and leaders for the
offshore wind energy industry.
- We are pleased that the
programme has been very well received by the OWE community, both in
Poland and abroad - says Andrzej Popadiuk, Director of the Offshore
Wind Energy Centre at GMU. - With a strong network of corporate and
academic partners we can ensure that the programme provides a unique
educational experience and practical value. Because of the number of
applications, we could admit only the strongest candidates to the
programme and create a very diverse cohort.
During the inauguration ceremony, 20 professionals were welcomed onto the Executive Offshore Wind MBA programme. Included in them are participants from Italy and Lithuania and three female students. The second EOW MBA edition has attracted specialists working in offshore and other maritime and energy sectors, as well as those working in other industries planning a career in offshore wind.

The Programme is highly practical, explains Dr Tomasz Harackiewicz,
EOW MBA Director. - Practitioners from various companies deliver
workshops, presentations and webinars, sharing their first-hand
experience with the EOW MBA students. Piotr Żeglarski of Seaway 7
says that the company expert will present a real-life offshore wind
farm project. The participants will have the opportunity to analyse
the development of the investment from start to finish.
The
EOW MBA new industry partners include Siemens Gamesa, SSE Renewables,
KONGSTEIN and Semco Maritime. They have joined industry leaders such
as DNV, GE Power, Inter Marine, KONGSTEIN, MEWO, Ørsted, Polish
Register of Shipping, RWE, Seaway 7, and Vestas. The programme’s
Academic partners are the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven,
Business Academy SouthWest and DOB-Academy, which conduct the world’s
first offshore MBA. The Honorary Partners are the British Embassy,
the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark, the Royal Norwegian Embassy,
the Embassy of the Netherlands, the Global Wind Energy Council and
the Polish Offshore Wind Energy Society. Representatives of partner
organisations constitute the EOW MBA Programme Board.
Offshore MBA at Gdynia Maritime University
The maximum number
of participants admitted to each edition is 20, which helps to make
the sessions interactive and practical. The programme is attended by
representatives of large, first-tier offshore companies, companies
planning involvement in the construction and operation of wind farms,
and personnel from related industries with aspirations for
professional development in the offshore wind sector. The programme
is conducted in English. As indicated by Gdynia Maritime University,
candidates have already begun registering for the third edition of
the programme.
The members of the EOW MBA Programme Board congratulated Gdynia Maritime University for inaugurating the second edition of the Executive Offshore Wind MBA and wished the Offshore Wind Energy Centre further success in the development of competencies for the Polish and European energy transition.
