A true celebration of the maritime industry with a strong Polish accent in Greece: 5 days of the Posidonia exhibition with a Polish national pavilion, a Polish seminar on the second day of the event and a number of accompanying events with Polish participation, including the Posidonia Cup regatta and the Posidonia Running Event. The 28th edition of this exhibition with a record number of exhibitors and a rich conference program brought together the maritime industry from all over the world and once again confirmed Posidonia's strong position in the calendar of global events, and the power of Greek shipping.

Posidonia 2024 is the biggest edition in the six decades of the biennial event, with over 2,000 exhibitors from 82 countries and 23 national pavilions ready to showcase their offer on the exhibition floor, which turned out to be too small to meet this year's demand for space. In addition, a total of 68 conferences, panel discussions and seminars dedicated to maritime topics were planned.

The organisers reported that over 40,000 participants visited the fair. They also claim that Posidonia 2024 generated around 80 million euros in revenue for the Greek economy, mainly in the hotel, MICE, transport and F&B sectors.

- This is one of the largest and most prestigious maritime exhibitions in the world, and as Poland we focus on the maritime economy, which is why we have to be here to show our potential. I am convinced that such presence will allow us to build and strengthen our brand as solid partners and professionals who deal with the maritime industry - said Arkadiusz Marchewka, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of the Republic of Poland, who opened the Polish pavilion at the Posidonia International Shipping Exhibition in Greece on Monday.

Polish national pavilion

28 Polish companies took part in the Posidonia exhibition. The main Polish accent was the Polish national pavilion, where a dozen or so companies presented their potential. Ports and shipyards, including Shiprepair Yard Nauta, Marine Ship Repair Yard „Gryfia”, Polish Register of Shipping, Port of Gdańsk Authority, Port of Gdynia Authority, Szczecin and Świnoujście Ports Authority, Bota Technik, exhibited together. Space was also allocated for the Polish Maritime Technology Forum. The following companies presented their offer at the PMTF stand: Famor, JPP Marine, HG Solutions and Phoenix Poland.

- Our pavilion features offers from the largest Polish ports, i.e. the ports of Gdańsk, Gdynia and Szczecin-Świnoujście, as well as state-owned shipyards and private companies - informed Arkadiusz Marchewka. - I am glad that we have a combination of state-owned companies, and private companies, because they have great potential and we must do everything to show the world that we are simply good at it - announced Marchewka.

Polish seminar

An important element of the second day of the event was the Polish seminar, during which Polish companies presented their potential, offer and plans. Over 2 hours of presentations, lectures and presentations of the capabilities of Polish companies met with considerable interest.

The seminar was opened by Deputy Minister Arkadiusz Marchewka.

Polish crew competed during the Posidonia Cup regatta

The Posidonia International Shipping Exhibition in Greece was accompanied by a number of sports events. One of the most important was the regatta that started in the historic Gulf of Piraeus - Munichia. The team in the colors of the Polish Register of Shipping Hellas bravely competed with the support of representatives of the Nauta Shipyard, PŻM Polsteam, and the Polish Embassy in Athens.

Driven by the winds of the Aegean Sea, the flagship sports event Posidonia once again demonstrated the commitment of the shipping community to creating a sustainable future and emphasized how deeply the maritime industry is rooted in the tradition of sailing.

On May 31, around 60 yachts and 700 representatives of senior management and sailors competed in the picturesque Faliron Bay for the coveted Posidonia Cup trophies.

The day ended with the Cup Awards Ceremony, offering participants the chance to enjoy a joyful summer night on the Attica Riviera.

Posidonia Running EVENT 2024 with Polish participation

Nearly 2,000 people took part in Sunday's Posidonia Running Event 2024, which took place in the center of Piraeus.

Polish participation was also visible. Several dozen representatives of Polish companies and institutions organized and integrated by the Polish embassy in Athens took part in the race. The great atmosphere allowed participants to recharge their batteries before a week of exhibition.

The Posidonia International Shipping Exhibition takes place every two years and is one of the main events of this type in Europe. This year, over 2,000 entities from 82 countries presented their goods and services at Posidonia. This year's edition was the largest in the 60-year history of the event in terms of the number of guests.
