The Pomeranian Special Economic Zone (PSSE) is among the best economic zones in the world. In this year's fDi Global Free Zones of the Year 2022 ranking, PSSE was ranked 7th among the best economic zones in the world and 2nd in Europe.
The Global Free Zones of the Year
2022 ranking is published by the Financial Times, one of the most
opinion-forming financial newspapers in the world. In the
publication, the authors indicate the best economic zones, both
globally and regionally, and reward them for special services.
Therefore, in addition to the 7th place in the world and the second
in Europe, the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone also received an
award for servicing large entrepreneurs, with a high recommendation
for locating large projects in ungerade.
fDi Magazine appreciated the
Pomeranian Special Economic Zone primarily for the increase in new
investments. In 2021, the Zone issued a record number of decisions on
support (90). The total expenditure of the projects exceeded 2.96
Mio. PLN, and investments contributed to the creation of 633 new
jobs. The company stands out among others with a high level of
investor service, including assigning a dedicated specialist who
helps the company in the entire investment process, including public
aid settlement.
The authors of the ranking also
appreciated the activities of the Industrial Robot Programming Center
(CPRP), where robots and 3D printing classes are conducted. CPRP
turned out to be a success in educating future staff for the needs of
entrepreneurs and economic development, which is why it received
support from the Velux Foundation for further development in the
amount of 6.5 Mio. zloty. PSSE plans to expand the project, currently
works are underway to open new branches in Grudziądz and Włocławek.
The activities of the Pomeranian
Special Economic Zone in the field of green economy were also
noticed. In 2021, it began preparations for its own investments in
the construction of three solar farms. The energy produced in them
will be offered to investors in the zone.
In addition, the wide range of
services offered through the Gdańsk Science and Technology Park was
appreciated, including the international technology incubator,
specialized prototyping facilities of Space4Makers, the CoWork Zone,
as well as cooperation activities. The Europeann Digital Innovation
Hub project, which is part of the Digital Europe Program, also
contributed to the presence of PSSE in the international arena. The
zone as part of the project will help companies to improve business
and production processes as well as products and services using
digital technologies.
- Receiving the title of one of the
best economic zones in the world is a great honor for us and an
undoubted appreciation of our work. The activities we carry out focus
on four main pillars, i.e. support for entrepreneurs, assistance in
the development of startups through the operation of science and
technology parks, promotion of industry education and industry
development thanks to the activity of the Industrial Robot
Programming Center. Such a range of projects allows us to create
appropriate investment conditions, from adapting the educational
foundations to the needs of the labor market, to supporting the
development of global corporations - says Przemysław Sztandera,
president of the Pomeranian Special Zone.
