In June, at the Shiprepair Yard Nauta in Gdynia, work
was carried out on, among others, on one of the largest ships ever to
visit the shipyard.
Interest in repair and dock services offered by Shiprepair Yard Nauta S.A. has been consistently high for nearly three years. In the last days of June, works on one of the largest vessels that have ever visited the shipyard were continued at the quay. The vessel in question is the 274-meter long and 48 m wide Marlin Somerset oil tanker operated by Columbia Shipmanagement Limited. The colors of this contractor are also worn by the renovated 228-meter oil tanker Cape Tempes. The ship is undergoing a class overhaul combined with the installation of a ballast water treatment system.
The ballast water treatment system
is also installed on five general cargo ships owned by the Norwegian
shipowner Wilson Ship Management. They are Wilson Elbe, Wilson
Hirtshals, Wilson Palma, Wilson Rhine and Wilson Gaeta. In addition,
this system is also installed on the Pelican Fisher tanker.
It is worth mentioning another
project of applying a marine coating based on graphene XGIT-PROP,
applied to the ship's propeller. This time, the product was used on
the Songa Sapphire tanker.
