Spliethoff has confirmed the receipt of the first of two ordered Spliethoff DP2 type B vessels. The new offshore supply vessel is called Brouwersgracht.
Brouwersgracht was built at the
Fuzhou Mawei shipyard for the construction of offshore wind farms,
therefore it was adapted to the transport and installation of
monopiles. Two Huisman 500 mt Heavy Lift Mast cranes will help with
performing its tasks. The ship is also equipped with a special,
removable automatic gantry crane for loading monopiles.
The vessel has a carrying capacity
of 12,500 tons and a deck with an operating area of approximately
5,900 square meters. There is a large cargo hold below the deck. The
total length of the ship is 141 meters, and the width at the maximum
point is 25 meters.
Brouwersgracht will not be lonely.
Spliethoff expects delivery of the twin unit, the Bloemgracht, in
just three months. Both ships have the first tasks for the delivery
and installation of monopiles at sea already planned. The operations
will last at least until April 2024.
Both ships will be technically and
commercially operated by sister companies from the Spliethoff Group:
Spliethoff and BigLift Shipping.
