On 21st February launching ceremony of partly outfitted fishing trawler m/v VOYAGER took place at Newbuilding Division of Nauta Shiprepair Yard in Gdańsk. It will be one of the most powerful fishing vessel in its class.
VOYAGER is 86.4m long and 17.8m wide. Loading capacity is more than 3 200m3. Trawler will catch fish in the North Atlantic, in an area which is known for its challenging weather. It is precisely for this reason, the ship must have a high power engine - bollard pull will be more than 120 tons. Fishing capabilities of the vessel will be improved further by the cavitation and noise when operating at low propeller rmp. Norwegian design office – Salt Ship Design delivered complete design of the ship.
VOYAGER was built for Dannish client – Karstensens Skibsvaerft AS, which has already ordered 17 vessels in Nauta. Voyager Fishing Company from Northern Ireland will be the final owner of the ship.
