Intensive end of the quarter at Nauta Remontowa Shipyard
Date of publication: 31.03.2021

Stocznia Remontowa Nauta, which celebrated its 95th anniversary at the beginning of the year, is intensively ending the first quarter of 2021. In March, it carries out orders for, among others, the largest Polish shipowner - PŻM.

From the beginning of the year, an important customer of the shipyard is the largest Polish shipowner and one of the largest in Europe - Polska Żegluga Morska (PŻM). At the moment, two bulk carriers - Wicko and Raba are being repaired.

In the case of Wicko (length 190 m, width 23 m, draft 6.2 m), a class renovation is carried out, combined with the assembly of a ballast water purification system. The second vessel, Raba (length 150 m, width 23 m, draft 6.5 m) is undergoing inter-area renovation - works on it will be carried out at the quay, without the need to dock.

Monika Kozakiewicz, Vice-President of the Management Board of Stocznia Remontowa Nauta S.A., emphasizes that after the meeting with PŻM representatives, further orders can be expected this year.

The shipyard realizes orders not only from the largest Polish shipowner, but also from foreign markets. Despite the pandemic, there are customers who want to carry out renovations combined with conversions. In addition, the offshore market has revived and currently SR Nauta is carrying out the reconstruction of a specialized unit for the Italian shipowner.

- Last year, we started cooperation with the German market, which we are continuing this year. In addition, we signed a contract for three units with a client from the Scottish market. We will carry out a class renovation combined with the assembly of ballast water installations - says Adam Potrykus, President of the Management Board of Stocznia Remontowa Nauta.

Seeing the number of inquiries, it looks like the next quarter of this year will be even more busy than the current one.

- We also prepare offers for inquiries regarding dual fuel installations. We are in touch with clients and design offices that act on their behalf. We are optimistic about the future - adds the President.
