Energomontaż-Północ Gdynia (EPG) accomplished next stage in the project of fabrication external platforms for Arkona offshore wind farm. On February 24th loading of 10 platforms for Bladt Industries took place at EPG premises in Gdynia.
10 platforms with total weight 240 tonnes were loaded onboard RIX PACIFIC and shipped to the client. This was the second last loading. Dispatch of last 4 platforms is planned for early March – said Dominik Sychowski. The whole project concerns the construction of 30 external platforms with a total weight of 720 tonnes. This means that already 26 platforms have left EPG facility. External platforms (with breadth 9.5 m and length 11.5 m) were entirely fabricated in EPG production hall on Handlowa Street in Gdynia.
The Arkona project is located in the Baltic Sea, 35 km northwest of the Island Rugen. The wind farm will consist of 60 turbines and will have an area ca. 40 sqm. The farm will have an installed capacity of 385 MW and is calculated to supply renewable energy to 400,000 households.
The Arkona is another project of EPG in the field of offshore wind power. The company has already performed similar structures for Baltic 2, Butendiek and Gwynt y Môr farms as well as other elements (e.g.: transformer platforms, rolling elements and cathodic protection cages) for London Array, Walney and Rødstand offshore wind farms.
