The Port of Gdynia saw record grain transshipments of 3.3 million tonnes in the first half of 2023, deputy infrastructure minister Marek Gróbarczyk said on Tuesday.
Puls Biznesu reported on Monday that 130% more grain was exported through the Port of Gdynia terminals in the first half of this year than in the previous year. As Deputy Infrastructure Minister Marek Gróbarczyk pointed out on Twitter on Tuesday, this is "another record in Polish ports". He noted that among the cargoes handled in the first half of this year at the Port of Gdynia, "the record-breaker was the handling of grain, which amounted to 3.3 million tonnes". "
This is evidence of the ports excellent preparation for the handling of agro products," Gróbarczyk assessed. In 2022, the Port of Gdynia handled 4.7 million tonnes of cereals, with wheat, maize and soya bean meal being the most popular. In the Port of Gdynia, grain handling is handled by four terminals: HES Gdynia Bulk Terminal, OT Port Gdynia, Speed and Mondry Terminal Gdynia.
