Three generators manufactured in Wrocław set off from the Port of Gdańsk to Taiwan. Their transport to the sea and loading onto a ship was a complicated logistical operation.

On Monday, an unusual cargo was loaded onto a ship at the Dworzec Drzewny quay in the Port of Gdańsk: three generators intended for the Taichung power plant in Taiwan. This is one of the largest and most powerful power plants in the world. The new generators sailed to Asia in the hold of the 166-meter Lisa ship. The transshipment operation was coordinated by Port Gdański Eksploatacja.

The generators were manufactured in the GE factory in Wrocław. They arrived in Gdańsk, at the siding of the Dworzec Drzewny quay on a special flatbed wagon. Port Consultants, a company specializing in such operations, was responsible for unloading them from the wagons, assembling them on the storage yard, and then delivering them under the ship's side. The company's employees used a special mobile hydraulic crane Lift System with a lifting capacity of 725 tons to load the generators onto a 24-axle SPMT (Self-Propelled Modular Transporter). With its help, the cargo traveled along the quay and reached the ship.

The generators were then loaded into the hold of the freighter Lisa. This was done using one of the ship's two cranes with a lifting capacity of 400 tons (the vessel has another, smaller crane of 120 tons in the bow section). Each of the generators weighed 378 tons.

The Lisa is a 166-meter-long ship with a deadweight capacity of 19,000 tons. The vessel belongs to the fleet of the company SAL Heavy Lift, which specializes in the maritime transport of heavy and project cargo. The vessel sails under the Madeiran flag and was put into service in 2011.
