Polsteam expands its fleet

Polsteam received from shipyards three new vessels during the last week of June.

On 26 June, Polsteam received two bulk carriers: mv "Gdynia", built by Xingang Shipyard in Tianjin and mv "Skawa" from Sanfu Shipyard in Taizhou.

Mv "Gdynia" is the seventeenth in a very long series of bulkers of 38,000 dwt ordered by Polsteam in Xingang. This type of handy-size vessels are highly rated by customers and quickly find employment - even in the current very difficult market conditions. Mv “Gdynia” in her maiden voyage will be under command of Cpt. Jacek Skowroński.
 
Mv "Skawa" is a bulk carrier of 16.600 dwt built by Sanfu Shipyard in Taizhou. The first captain of "Skawa" is  Cpt. Zbyszko  Duszak.

On 28 June, Polsteam received another bulk carrier of 16.600 DWT - mv "Ina". This is the last ship from the series of eight handy-size vessels oredered by Polsteam in Sanfu. Mv "Ina" in her first voyage will be under command of Cpt. Zbigniew Rogowski.

Delivery of mv “Ina” means that Polsteam is the owner and operator of 80 ships now (79 owned, 1 operated). These are : 73 bulk carriers (13,700-80,000 dwt.) 3 liquid sulfur tankers and 4 ferries (links : Świnoujście - Ystad, Świnoujście - Trelleborg).
 
The biggest Polish shipowner plans to receive a total of 13 new bulk carriers this year.

In 2012 entered into operation (for now) : seven bulkers of 16 600 dwt with the names of Polish rivers : mv "Narew", mv "Raba", mv "Olza", mv "Prosna", mv "San ", mv" Skawa ", mv " Ina "; two bulkers of 30 000 DWT (lakers) with the names of Polish lakes : mv " Solina "and mv "Mamry”; three bulkers of 38.000 DWT with the names of Polish coastal cities : mv "Szczecin", mv "Koszalin" and mv "Gdynia".
