Last week, the largest yacht event in Poland took
place. It was the third edition of the unique event in the luxury
boat industry in Poland. From Thursday to Sunday participants could
visit the decks of moored luxury boats, and, as the organizer said,
Gdynia became the "Polish Cannes".
As every
year, during the four days of the Polboat Yachting Festival in
Gdynia, we could witness premieres of Polish yachts and visit the
stands of the companies related to the industry – shipyards, boat
distributors, manufacturers of equipment and gadgets for equipment on
board.
– Polboat is a "show of strenth" of the
Polish yachting industry. It is a celebration of Polish entrepreneurs
and Polish product, what we are famous for abroad – said Sebastian
Nietupski, president of the Polish Chamber of Yachting Industry and
Water Sports Polskie Yachty.
The exhibitors also
included the largest Polish yach producers such as Sunreef Yachts and
Galeon. The latter is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
–
The company was founded in 1982 and despite the fact that today we
are the biggest Polish company producing luxury yacht boats, we still
remain a family business with Polish capital – said Paulina
Marwińska, Marketing Director at Galeon Yachts.
During
Polboat, the visitors could see various types of vessels: fishing,
speed boats, catamarans, large yachts and small sports yachts. Also –
motor boats and water scooters. On Saturday at 2 p.m., the scooters
were displayed on a spectacular show organized by Taurus Sea Power
company. The event was hosted by the Polish vice-champion in water
scooters. The presented scooters were Wave 230 and Sparktrix 90
horses.
Taurus Sea Power is a distributor not only of
scooters, but also motor boats. For this type of units, the company
presented the Mitek Electric Propulsion motor.
– Electric
engines are becoming more and more popular – said Maciej Skibski,
owner of Taurus Sea Power.
Green solutions for the industry
was a noticable theme of the event.
– Electric engines are a
novelty that is already happening. Our challenge will be the network
of chargers in marinas – said Sebastian Nietupski.
Pearl
Yacht Group from Lower Silesia showed off with its newest
eco-product. The shipyard, existing only since January this year,
announced its flagship product, the 100% zero-emission houseboat
called E-Vision.
– It is fully self-sufficient, has solar
panels and Rim Drive Technology electric motors. The entire structure
is made of aluminum, wood and natural materials such as leather. We
do not have any unnecessary plastic elements – said Tomasz Zygiel,
Manager at Pearl Yacht Group.
The boat, intended for rivers
and closed waters, is going to have its official premiere on August
15 in Berlin.
The festival was also attended by experts
consulting companies and buyers of luxury boats. Attorney Patryk
Zbroja drew attention to the prevention of risks related to yachts.
He took part in a panel called "How to buy a yacht safely?".
On the other hand, legal counsel Mariusz Sanocki, whose law office WP
Law consults sustainable projects for the shipbuilding industry,
explained what to look for when introducing green solutions to the
company, such as photovoltaics and water purification.
– The
topic of sustainability makes the whole industry run. In the coming
years, we can expect projects co-financed both from the EU and
national funds, which will aim to increase the competitiveness of
Polish solutions in this aspect. In my opinion, Polish scientific and
technical thought is able to cope with this challenge – said
Sanocki.
A representative of his law firm, WP Law Marine, took
part in a panel dedicated to sustainable development called "Strategy
of sustainable development and reality – what we create for future
generations".
Despite the crisis in the global economy,
there is no shortage of customers interested in purchasing luxury
boats of Polish production. During Polboat Yachting Festival, Gdynia
was also visited by journalists from all over the world, including
from the UAE, UK and Serbia.
