As informed by Polferries on their Facebook page, this marks Piotr Redmerski's return to the management board of Polferries. He previously led the company from 2016 to 2021. On the other hand, Artur Krasiński is making his debut in the structure of the Kołobrzeg-based shipping company, simultaneously assuming the position of deputy President.
Before the new President of Polferries lies a number of tasks, such as the acquisition and introduction of a new ferry onto the Baltic route, which is being constructed at the Italian shipyard Visentini. The planned commencement of operations is expected in the second half of 2024. The vessel will operate on the Świnoujście – Ystad route. The cargo capacity of the new ro-pax vessel will be close to 3 km, allowing for the simultaneous transport of approximately 150 trucks and around 200 passenger cars. The onboard facilities will accommodate nearly 1000 passengers in 216 cabins.
Piotr Redmerski will begin his work at Polferries from April 1st.
Piotr Szczygielski, the Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Polferries, told Polskie Radio Koszalin that one of Redmerski's first tasks will be to equip and introduce the new ferry, currently under construction in Italy, onto the Baltic route. "We assume that this unit will be introduced onto the Baltic route in July. In the medium term, however, the restructuring of financing related to charters and loan repayments is an issue," said Szczygielski.
Piotr Redmerski served as the President of Polferries from 2016 to 2021, and previously held the position of Director of Economic Affairs in the company for several years. In April 2021, following Redmerski's dismissal, Andrzej Madejski assumed the position of President. The newly appointed Supervisory Board of Polferries, established in January this year, dismissed Madejski from the position of President as well as other members of the Polferries management board.
