Mostostal Pomorze of Gdańsk will produce elements for the offshore wind sector, which will go to a Danish farm located in the North Sea.
Mostostal Pomorze is in the process
of prefabricating more structures for the offshore wind sector. The
scope of work includes 41 sets of boatlandings, rest platforms and
external ladders structures, totaling more than 600 tons of steel.
"Secondary steel structures
are our main area of activity in the offshore wind industry beside to
trafostations” - recalled Mostostal Pomorze on its social media
profiles.
The kits will eventually be
installed on wind towers in the Danish North Sea.
- This is our next order for
boatlanding, i.e. structures that provide access to offshore wind
farm towers for, among other things, maintenance and upkeep -
explained Magdalena Osowska, a marketing specialist from Mostostal
Pomorze S.A..
The Gdansk-based company has
already started producing this type of structure more than a year ago
for another client.
- Although the projects are
similar, certain details can be challenging to prefabricate - Osowska
points out, adding that this is why we start the project with a
detailed welding and assembly plan. Our team of engineers and
technologists works out each manufacturing step in a 3D program. The
structure ultimately has to fit the tower, so continuous dimensional
control is important - she explains.
The contract, which Mostostal
Pomorze is currently executing, is for a long-standing client for
whom the company has so far executed mainly trafostations.
