Luxury Yachts Are Being Built in Gdynia. The Latest Hull Has Just Been Launched

For some, it may come as a surprise, but since 1991, a shipyard in Gdynia has been specializing in the construction of partially equipped luxury yacht hulls – Damen Shipyard Gdynia.

Damen Shipyards Gdynia is located on a 1.5-hectare site on Indyjska Street in Gdynia. The shipyard has access to the Norwegian and United States quays. Work is carried out in four production halls equipped with their own lifting systems, as well as in dedicated workshops for piping and preliminary hull profile processing. This is where partially equipped hulls of ocean-going luxury yachts are manufactured. The shipyard produces two 60-meter-long vessels per year.

Founded in 1991, Damen Shipyards Gdynia was one of the first private shipyards in the country. Since 1996, it has been part of the international Damen Shipyards Group and has been continuously growing. It currently employs 145 people permanently.

Its portfolio includes port and ocean-going tugboats, oil spill response vessels, rescue and patrol boats, research vessels, floating hotels, navigation marking service units, as well as, more recently, partially equipped luxury yacht hulls.

The shipyard’s capabilities are also steadily expanding. Last year, the latest investment was completed, enabling the Gdynia shipyard to independently produce aluminum.

Since its establishment, the shipyard has completed a total of 110 projects, half of which are yacht hulls for the Damen holding. The latest of these, a project with the working name YN 6009, part of the LE60 yacht series, was launched in January 2025. Since its debut in 2020, yachts from this series have gained popularity among buyers worldwide.
