This year's Lighthouses of the Maritime Economy awards have found their recipients. The statuettes were presented during a ceremonial gala ending the first day of the second edition of the Polish Ports 2030 Congress.
The Lighthouses of the Maritime
Economy were presented for the umpteenth time. The statuettes were
prepared by a renowned Gdańsk sculptor - Stanisław Szwechowicz.
They were cast in bronze and depict a lighthouse defying high waves.
This year, the editorial committee
of the Maritime Economy decided to award six entities. Arkadiusz
Marchewka, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Infrastructure,
participated in the ceremonial awarding of the awards.
The first of them was received by
the Morska Agencja Gdynia for "Dynamic development and
achievements in the port and maritime logistics sector". The
award was received by Michał Śmigielski, President of the
Management Board of MAG.
The next laureate was PGE Polska
Grupa Energetyczna S.A. The award was granted for "Building
Poland's energy security using environmentally friendly
technologies". The Lighthouse was received by Dariusz Marzec,
president of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.
The awardees also
included Wuprohyd. The committee appreciated its "35 years of
achievements in the hydrotechnical construction sector". The
statuette was received by Piotr Pawłowski, vice president of the
board.
Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie S.A. was awarded for
"Organizing the BALTEXPO trade exhibition and promoting the
Polish maritime economy on international markets". The
Lighthouse was received by Andrzej Bojanowski, president of the
board.
The next award went to OT Logistics S.A. The Lighthouse
was awarded for "Dynamic development of the logistics service
chain based on port assets", and it was received by Kamil
Jedynak, president of the board.
The statuette also went to the Jack
Strong Foundation and the Association of Maritime Cities and
Municipalities for "Organizing volunteering, promoting the idea
of traditional shipbuilding, sailing and maritime training of young
people among local governments of the Polish coast". It was
received by Sylwia Lament, director of the Association of Maritime
Cities and Municipalities for Local Governments, and Leszek
Pochroń-Frankowski and Andrzej Dolny from the Jack Strong
Foundation.
