Karstensen Shipyard has launched another fishing vessel. The ordering party for the Sille Marie vessel, with construction number 471, is Sille Marie AS, based in Søgne, near Kristiansand, Norway, and owned by three Aamodt brothers: Carl, Tom Arne and Yngvar on the one hand and the Salthaug family with Bastian, Tobias, Yngvar and Bent on the other.
The Karstensen-launched fishing
vessel will be the company's first new vessel and will replace the
current Sille Marie, which was purchased from Sweden in 2011.
„The shipping company operates
the fishery using trawling as well as pelagic trawling for herring
and mackerel, and partly for industrial fish in combination with
table/seine fish. The new vessel will be operated under the same
principles,” reports Karol Sielawa, project manager from Karstensen
Shipyard.
The new Sille Marie must be
delivered and put into service as of June 1, 2023.
Karol
Sielawa emphasizes that the new Sille Marie has been designed with an
exceptional focus on emission reduction and an eco-friendly
operational profile.
„The design is fully equipped with
innovative, green and sustainable solutions, with a special focus on
optimizing working conditions, safety and crew comfort,” he points
out.
The propulsion system will consist of a 2920 kW MAN main
engine with a large, slow-moving propeller with a diameter of 4.70
meters, adapted to the ship's exact operational profile. The size and
speed of the propeller are groundbreaking choices, and the ship is
expected to be able to operate with exceptionally good energy
efficiency that will set a new standard in the industry.
