In 2023, more than 60 LNG carriers are expected to call at the LNG terminal in Świnoujcie, according to Daniel Stachiewicz, Vice-President of the Szczecin and Świnoujcie Seaports Authority. Over 8 billion cubic meters of gas will be regasified annually with the currently implemented investment.
Stachiewicz explained to PAP (Polish Press Agency) that in 2022 58 LNG carriers called at the LNG terminal in Świnoujście, 23 more than in the previous year. A total of 4.4 million tons of gas were transported by these units, which translates to 5.6 billion cubic meters of gas after regasification.
The LNG terminal is expected to receive more units carrying liquefied gas this year, noted the Vice-President. Over 60 LNG carriers are expected to call at the LNG terminal in Świnoujcie in 2023, he said.
According to Stachiewicz, it will eventually be possible to regasify more than 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year with the currently implemented investment. This is approximately 1/3 of the natural gas needed for powering the Polish economy, both for businesses and households.
