On December 17 in Belfast, Euroafrica took over the ferry Epsilon, after a long bare-boat charter, from the Irish operator.
The vessel was purchased by the Hass Holding Group, which owns Euroafrica, in May 2022 from Italian shipowner Caronte and Tourist. The sale and purchase agreement provided for the new owner to continue the bare-boat charter concluded in 2013.
The ship underwent a dock survey prior to the acquisition in Belfast and is now already in Świnoujście, soon to arrive in Szczecin.
M/f Epsilon is a modern ro-pax ferry built in 2011 at the renowned Italian shipyard Visentini. It has nearly 3,000 meters of cargo line and a dedicated deck for cars. It can carry about 130 trucks and 260 passengers at a time.
Epsilon will operate in the colors of Unity Line and will be introduced in mid-January 2024 on the line from Świnoujście to Trelleborg, significantly strengthening the service's shipping potential. Epsilon has the largest cargo capacity among the ferries operated by Polish shipowners.
