Bolloré Logistics continues to meet its green commitments
Date of publication: 14.02.2023

Global transport and forwarding giant Bolloré Logistics consistently pursues a systemic approach to reducing the industry's environmental impact. The company reduces its carbon footprint and protects biodiversity. Before the end of last year, another 7 sites were awarded for the effective implementation of the company's pro-environmental policy.

The whole world is striving to decarbonize fossil fuel-intensive industries. Consequently, the greatest environmental challenge facing the transport and logistics sector is combating climate change, improving air quality, and preserving natural resources. Bolloré Logistics supports its customers by offering them a wide range of comprehensive, efficient, and environmentally friendly solutions. With the launch of the CSR Power Sustainable Logistics program in 2018, Bolloré Logistics has strengthened its commitment to eco-responsible ventures and made the environment a central element of its market strategy. The company's priorities include, among others:

  • pursuing an active policy of protecting global biodiversity
  • optimization of packaging used in transport and contract logistics
  • offering a sustainable supply chain
  • reduction of CO2 emissions by 30% by 2030.

This way, Bolloré Logistics, together with its customers, contributes to more sustainable consumption.

In 2020, the company formulated another goal as part of Powering Sustainable Logistics. This goal is to implement a biodiversity action plan by 2025 at 35 of its locations around the world. The project was based on the concepts contained in the Biodiversity Statute of Bolloré Logistics signed in 2014. Sites that effectively implement pro-environmental practices receive the internal title of Acting for nature office. In December, during the 16th Biodiversity Committee in Lyon, it was awarded to 7 more units, i.e. the headquarters in Puteaux, as well as offices in Bruges, Strasbourg, Vienna, Dubai, Ho Chi Minh City and Mexico. By working together with these and the previously distinguished 20 branches, the company has achieved 77% of its stated goals.

In addition to continuous employee awareness activities, Bolloré Logistics undertakes many different initiatives to protect natural capital. The following are among the most interesting ones: diverse and ecological management of green areas, development that is beneficial to local fauna and flora, the optimization of plastic, cardboard, wood, and paper consumables, and the recycling of waste in the production chain. Cooperation with the ecological consulting company Elan allows the company to develop the right recommendations for implementation by the teams involved.
