A keel-laying ceremony for a new CSOV (Commissioning
Service Operation Vessel), based on the SX2222 model, took place at
the CRIST shipyard in Gdynia. This is the next stage of work on the
vessel that began in the fall of this year.
The
construction of the vessel marked with the construction number NB323
began in October this year with the cutting of sheet metal. This is
the last of a series of six units built for the Norwegian shipyard
Ulstein Verft. The first prefabricated hull sections have opened the
possibility of laying the keel for the construction of the vessel as
early as December 19, 2024. Construction is to last until the end of
2025.
According to the CRIST shipyard,
next year will be extremely intensive, because together with NB323, 4
vessels will be built, to be delivered exclusively to the Ulstein
Verft shipyard.
The SX222 ship model is based on
the ULSTEIN TWIN X-STERN design. It is 89.6 meters long and up to 19
meters wide. The new CSOV (Commissioning Service Operation Vessel)
will be equipped with a hybrid propulsion system powered by
batteries. It will also be prepared to use ecological methanol fuel,
making it environmentally friendly. The characteristic shape of the
hull and the lack of a transom plate optimize parameters in terms of
fuel consumption, maneuverability, speed, stability and load-bearing
capacity. The unit will be equipped with a gangway with motion
compensation and a crane with a lifting capacity of up to 15 tons.
The ship will have 111 cabins for 132 people involved in wind farm
service, as well as an advanced W2W (walk to work) transfer system
with motion compensation, enabling safe and comfortable movement of
employees.
