Another construction works at the Port of Gdynia will begin soon. Among the plans is the reconstruction of the railroad and road surface along with utilities, as well as the construction of a network that will power the port cranes at the Dutch Quay. The works will be carried out by the NDI Group, with which the investor has just signed an agreement.
Work in the Dutch Quay area will
take 18 months. They will begin any moment, as the contract for the
task at the Port of Gdynia is already in force. Sopot-based NDI
Group, for whom this is another investment being carried out in the
ports, has been appointed the general contractor.
The work to be carried out includes
the reconstruction of the railroad and road surface in railroad
tracks No. 601, 602, 603 and 604, as well as the construction of
underground utilities there. In addition, a new medium-voltage
network will be built to power the port's cranes. A crossing from
Francuska Street to the Dutch Quay – between bunkers No. 1 and 2 –
will have to be built. This, in turn, is connected with the partial
demolition and reconstruction of bunker No. 1.
Modernization of this part of the
Port of Gdynia is expected to provide new opportunities for its
development. The new port infrastructure will be used by mobile
cranes, powered by electricity from land.
All work costs more than 32.6
million gross. The planned completion date for this investment is
December 2023.
