Date of publication: 06.06.2023

Swiss-Italian shipping company MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company) has resumed its Swan shipping service. Simultaneously, Gdynia gains its first direct container connection with the Far East.

According to the schedule posted on the shipping company's website, the first two vessels to arrive at the Port of Gdynia as part of the Swan service are MSC Calypso and MSC Virginia. The former will depart from Qingdao on June 11th and arrive at the Polish port on July 24th. The latter, powered by environmentally friendly LNG fuel, will depart from Qingdao on June 12th, 2023, and is expected to reach Gdynia at the Baltic Hub on July 25th, 2023. The following day, the ship will dock in Gdańsk.

The Swan service connects major Chinese ports with Northern European ports in the Benelux countries. With fewer stops in Europe and Asia, it ensures one of the fastest transit times between China, the Benelux, Poland, and the Baltic countries. The port of Gdynia will be only the second, after Antwerp, in Europe to be visited by Swan service ships.

The full rotation includes stops at the following ports: Qingdao - Ningbo - Yantian - Tanjung Pelepas - Antwerp - Gdynia - Gdańsk - Klaipeda - King Abdullah Port - Singapore - Qingdao.
